What is a Zero Waste Compliance visit, and do I need one?

Under the , all organisations, big or small, have to recycle their plastic, metal, glass, paper and cardboard or risk a fine. In addition, if you run a food business, located in an urban area, and produce more than 50kg of food waste per week, you are required to present this for separate collection. From 1 January 2016, any business located in an urban area creating more than 5kg of food waste per week, will also be required to have a food waste collection service in place.

The Zero Waste Compliance visit, is a free service any business or organisation in Perth and Kinross can use to ensure that they are meeting the requirements of the Waste (Scotland) Regulations. The Commercial Waste Team will be able to offer advice, and work with you to provide your business with a tailored waste management system to meet your needs.
