UK Parliamentary General Election results

The UK Parliament represents the people of the United Kingdom and has the power to make decisions and pass laws.

Members of Parliament (MPs) are elected using a First Past the Post System (FPTP). The elections take place every 5 years and depending on where you live in Perth and Kinross, you can vote to return an MP for the Perth and Kinross-shire constituency, the Angus and Perthshire Glens constituency or the Stirling and Strathallan constituency. 

The Returning Officer, Thomas Glen, has responsibility for the management of the election in the Perth and Kinross-shire constituency.

Angus Council are responsibility for the management of the election in the Angus and Perthshire Glens constituency, and Stirling Council are responsible for the management of the election in the Stirling and Strathallan constituency. 

General Election 2024 results

Voting in the UK Parliamentary General Election took place on 4 July 2024.

For the Perth and Kinross-shire constituency the turnout was 65%, with 50,219 voters returning a ballot paper from a total registered electorate of 77,261.

Pete Wishart was elected as MP for this constituency.
