Lifelong Learning Committee agreed on 11 January 2012 to consult on proposals to amend the catchment area.
The Lifelong Learning Committee on 25 August 2010 approved Report 10/428 (PDF, 4 MB).
A rise in pupil numbers, combined with the findings of the Council's option appraisal informed Report No 11/428 (PDF, 4 MB) which was approved by the Lifelong Learning Committee on 31 August 2011. The Committee agreed that Logiealmond Primary School should remain open, with the local situation monitored on an ongoing basis. The Committee also agreed to a limited review of Logiealmond's catchment area, focussed on the area within the Glenalmond College site.
A further report 12/01 (PDF, 2 MB) was approved by the Lifelong Learning Committee on 11 January 2012. This report presented a proposal paper (PDF, 1 MB) in respect of Logiealmond Primary School. A period of formal consultation was then undertaken in line with the requirements of the Schools (Consultation)(Scotland) Act 2010 ( from Wednesday 25 January 2012 until Friday 23 March 2012.
Public Meetings
Two public meetings were held in Logiealmond and Methven to discuss the proposals for Logiealmond. Anyone wishing to attend either or both of the public meetings was welcome to do so. The meetings were an opportunity for interested parties to:
- hear more about the proposal
- ask questions about the proposal
- have their views recorded so that they can be taken into account as part of the consultation process

The next stage in the consultation process was the publication of the outcome of the statutory consultation. This Consultation Report (PDF, 91 KB) was published from Thursday 31 May 2012 for 6 weeks before the proposal was considered and approved by the Lifelong Learning Committee on 15 August 2012,Report 12/316 (PDF, 2 MB) refers.
