Child protection - Information for children and young people

Child protection is all about keeping unborn babies, babies, children and young people up to the age of 18 safe.  The pages listed below have lots of information and resources for children and young people and are divided by age to make sure that the resources are appropriate for you.

Please click on Child Protection - Information for children and young people below to find out more about what child protection is and how trusted adults can help you.

We believe as a Council that it is everybody's job to make sure that unborn babies, babies, children and young people are okay and that they get the right help that they need, from the right people at the right time that they need it. We are working hard to make sure that this happens.

Over the course of 2025, we will be working to add further resources to these pages.  If you have any comments or feedback, we would love to hear from you - please email us at ChildProtectionCommittee@pkc.gov.uk

If you are worried about something or don't feel safe, and not sure what to do, there are lots of people who can help. You could talk to someone in your family who you trust, or to a teacher, a social worker, the Police, or you could call Childline on 0800 11 11.
