Child Protection Inter-Agency Guidelines 2023 (PDF, 1 MB) - These local inter-agency child protection guidelines have been produced to support all practitioners and managers working in all services and agencies across Perth and Kinross in relation to their day-to-day child protection practice.

P&K CPC Practitioner's Guide - Equal Protection Act 6 Nov 2020 FINAL (PDF, 292 KB) - This multi-agency practitioner's guidance is for all staff working across Perth and Kinross and provides practice information and advice on the Children (Equal Protection from Assault) (Scotland) Act 2019, which came into force on 7 November 2020 and is accompanied by key national publications.   

Perth and Kinross CPC Joint Protocol CARM (PDF, 464 KB) - This is a guidance document for staff regarding the Care and Risk Management (CARM) protocol.  This protocol will only apply to a very small number of children and young people who are assessed as presenting a risk of serious harm to themselves and/or other people.

Perth and Kinross CPC and APC Joint Protocol Transitions (PDF, 398 KB) - This document outlines the Guiding Principles for ensuring  safe and appropriate transitions, within and across Children's Services and Adult Services, including Young People aged 16 to 18 years.  Key partners for this protocol are Education, Health, Police and Third Sector agencies.

Guidance for Working with Hostile and Non-Engaging Parents and Carers (PDF, 99 KB) - This guidance has been produced by Perth and Kinross Child Protection Committee to assist all practitioners and managers working with hostile and/or non-engaging parents and carers, especially when there are child care and/or protection concerns.

Practitioner's Guide: Resolution and Escalation (PDF, 801 KB) - A guide for all practitioners and managers on how to resolve any disagreements and conflicts at a practitioner level and if necessary how to escalate.

 Tayside Practitioner's Guidance: Concern for Unborn Babies (PDF, 840 KB) - This guidance is for all staff working in the public, private and third sectors in Tayside, who work with children, young people and their families and includes those working in adult services.  This guidance aims to ensure we have a consistent practice approach to UBB referrals.  The Referral Template is available within services / agencies.

Tayside Joint Protocol for the Medical Examinations of Children and Young People (PDF, 376 KB) -Tayside Protocol which describes the various types of medical examinations undertaken to protect vulnerable children and young people and to keep them safe, including information and advice on how to arrange these examinations.
