Householders across Perth and Kinross are invited to recycle their used postage stamps at Perth and Kinross Libraries to help raise funds for the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB)
Postage stamp recycling has been in place at all Perth and Kinross Libraries for almost 10 years, with the stamps being previously collected in support of The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) Save the Albatross Campaign.
Louise Band of the AK Bell Library encourages: "Stamp recycling at our libraries has been very popular with local households. If you'd like to take part, collect your used stamps from your post and parcels (leaving approximately 1cm of envelope or packaging around each stamp) and drop them off at any of the Perth and Kinross Libraries."
Councillor Kathleen Baird, Vice-Convener of the Environment & Infrastructure Committee explains: "The RSPB is no longer collecting stamps as part of their fundraising activities - unless they are whole stamp collections or stamp albums - so from 2019, the stamps collected at Perth and Kinross Libraries are being donated to the RNIB who will recycle them into much-needed funds to help people with sight loss to access information, support and advice."
