Adult learning hub - SQA Core Skills - SQA Numeracy

Numeracy skills are necessary for coping with the demands of everyday life.  People need to be comfortable with numbers, graphs, symbols, diagrams and calculator calculations.

What

  • Using numbers
  • Using graphical information

Where

Free classes will be held face to face and/or online.

When

Classes will usually be on a set day every week, but the frequency and time can be adjusted to your needs and circumstances.

How

You will be allocated a staff member who will support you through the course either individually or in a small group. Examples of tasks might include:

  • Learning to work confidently with basic numbers
  • Learn how to create a table of information
  • Learning how to read a graph and use the information to make decisions
  • Working out the best value from a mobile phone tariff table
