Lifelong Links

Children and young people who are care-experienced and had placements away from family can often loose touch with important people. The aim of Lifelong Links is to support these children and young people to reconnect with the people that are important to them in a planned, structured, and safe way in the hope that they have a network of supportive relationships while in care, and going into, and throughout their adult life.

Objectives of Lifelong Links

  • Stronger relationships while in care and when they leave.
  • Greater placement stability.
  • A stronger sense of identity.
  • Improved mental health and emotional wellbeing.
  • Reduced harmful and risky behaviours.
  • Improved long-term outcomes.
