The Commission's 2023 Review Report was submitted to the Speaker of the House of Commons and to the Secretary of State for Scotland on 27 June 2023 and laid before the UK Parliament on 28 June 2023.
It is anticipated that once the Boundary Order is made (currently expected October 2023), the new boundaries would take effect at the next UK General Election called after the order is made.
Work will now commence on understanding the implications for individual wards, and polling places and districts with approval for any changes being sought at a future meeting of the Council. The Council is also due to undertake a statutory five-year review in the coming months too.
