Briefing Information

Sheena Devlin, Strategic Lead for Education and Learning, is leaving Perth and Kinross Council on Friday 22 November 2024.

Chief Executive Thomas Glen said: "Sheena has been a dedicated public servant and will be an incredibly tough act to follow.

"Sheena has been an important part of our senior management team for a number of years and has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of children and young people across Perth and Kinross.

"She also led our schools through some of the most challenging circumstances imaginable, not least the Covid pandemic.

"We are extremely grateful for all Sheena's hard work and commitment and wish her all the best for the next chapter in her life."

Sheena joined Perth and Kinross Council in August 2002, taking up post as headteacher at Dunbarney Primary School.

Since that time she has undertaken a range of roles in the council, most recently as Strategic Lead for Education and Learning. She has held a number of national roles too, most recently as President of ADES (Association of Directors of Education Scotland).

Sheena said: "It has been my privilege to work in service of the children, young people and families across Perth and Kinross in a range of different roles during my time with the Council."

Recruitment for her successor will begin soon.
