EMBN Number: 090-25

Date: 22 July 2025

Subject: St Johnstone FC - Collaboration

Details

Purpose

Following the opening of the St Johnstone community store in Perth High Street and with a view to continue forging closer links with the club, the Council's Business, Place and Investment service have agreed some initial initiatives to develop this.

Briefing Information

Initial proposals to help in building relationship and strengthening ties with St. Johnstone FC:

  • The illumination of Perth Bridge and St Pauls the evening before home match days fixtures in blue and white.

    • We have been able to accommodate current fixtures in our lighting programme for 2025 with the exception on the Ross County Game on Sat 11th October and Airdrieonians game due to be played on Sat 1st Nov. This will commence with the first home fixture which is due to be played Tuesday 22nd July against Raith Rovers (Cup game).

    • We are aware that currently only the first few league games of the season appear to be moved for TV schedule so would imagine there will be some change to the dates currently provided but as it stands that what we can accommodate against existing committed requests.

  • Offer projection space at St. Pauls for club content that we can loop with existing partners content (such as CPK in promotion their exhibitions/shows). This in on the proviso that if something else is programmed, like projections for armistice for instance, then they take precedence.

    • Noting that while we have passed the longest day it won't be until around September before projections really start becoming effective with sunsets being earlier in the evening than the current 9.30/10pm.

  • We will also ask if St Johnstone would like to be included in our programme for the outdoor display at St Paul's - if they have historic/other imagery that would translate to this space.

  • Look at other opportunities where possible to collaborate further, such as the likes of city dressing, animation and inclusion in events programmes.
