Purpose
The purpose of this briefing is to inform members about the additional free bus travel date on Saturday 20 December 2025.
Briefing Information
Thanks to investment from Perth and Kinross Council, free local bus travel is available to residents and visitors in the Council area on the first Saturday of every month.
Local bus operators Stagecoach East Scotland, Dochertys Midland Coaches, Sweeney's Garage, Elizabeth Yule Coaches and Glenfarg Community Transport all take part in the initiative, which encourages people to use sustainable transport.
Part of this year's free bus travel budget initiative is to include an additional day in December to support our local businesses in the run-up to Christmas. The date confirmed will be Saturday 20 December, the last shopping Saturday before Christmas. This will also support the Perth Christmas markets on the day.
