Briefing Information
Jacquie Pepper to retire
After almost 40 years of public service Jacquie Pepper, Chief Officer/Director - Integrated Health and Social Care has decided to take early retirement at the end of this financial year.
For the last four years as Chief Officer, Jacquie has championed the importance of health and social care services and the wellbeing of the most vulnerable individuals, families and communities in Perth and Kinross. She has, alongside her team, supported the IJB and its members in the oversight of health and social care across Perth and Kinross and wider Tayside.
Before taking up the Chief Officer role in early 2022, Jacquie was the Depute Director of Education and Children's Services and was Head of Children, Young People and Families from 2014. She also held the statutory role of Chief Social Work Officer for the Council from 2017 until April 2024. Before joining PKC Jacquie was Head of Inspection at the Care Inspectorate after a period as senior inspector with HM Inspectorate of Education. She has also held social work services roles in a number of Scottish councils and ten years in Wales.
Our Chief Executive, Thomas Glen, said: "Jacquie was the first senior appointment I made after taking up the role of Chief Executive and she has been a brilliant friend and colleague. She lives our values and I'm genuinely gutted at the news, however I recognise that Jacquie's commitment to public service and her genuine care for the most vulnerable people in our communities have made a real difference to the work of the Perth and Kinross Health and Social Care Partnership. Her belief in the value of social work and the power of collaboration has helped shape services that put people first and support those who need it most.
"There will be opportunities nearer her departure to pay a fuller tribute to her contributions, but I know that I am not alone in being thankful for her empathy, insight and support in our years working together. She is an incredible example of someone who has committed a life to public service and those children, families and communities in greatest need"
Jacquie said: "It has been the privilege of my career to work alongside so many dedicated colleagues and partners in Perth & Kinross. Perth and Kinross stands out as compassionate, caring and full of courageous staff and partners making a positive difference for the people of Perth and Kinross every day. I am proud of the vital work of our teams, and I am confident that the HSCP will continue to be well supported in the future."
Arrangements for recruiting to the post of Director/Chief Officer - Integrated Health and Social Care will be shared in due course.
