Our Tenant Downsizing Scheme offers tenants living in homes that are too large some incentives to move into a smaller Council property.
The scheme helps to free-up larger properties for families in need of larger homes, and to find suitable homes for people who want to downsize.
We would never force anyone to move out of their home. However, we are committed to providing attractive incentives and support to people who might want to downsize.
We can:
- Offer cash and/or non-cash incentives up to the value of £2,000 (such as providing floor coverings in the new property, arranging removals etc.)
- Provide tenants with more choice in terms of the type and size of property they can move to.
