Free bus travel on the first Saturday of every month

This year, we're continuing to encourage Perth and Kinross residents, shoppers and visitors to get onboard their local bus and enjoy free bus travel on the first Saturday of every month, plus an extra two days for Clean Air Day and the festive season.   

Continuing the success of the 2024 free bus travel offer, where 38,042 people took advantage of the offer, saving almost £108,000 in fares to residents, the initiative is designed to encourage people to get on board their local bus services, while promoting sustainable travel.

People can take advantage of this offer for journeys within Perth and Kinross, provided by local bus operators Stagecoach East Scotland, Docherty Midland Coaches, Elizabeth Yule, Sweeney's minibuses and Glenfarg Community Transport for the following Saturdays:

• 5 July 2025 
• 2 August 2025 
• 6 September 2025 
• 4 October 2025 
• 1 November 2025 
• 6 December 2025 
• 3 January 2026 
• 7 February 2026 
• 7 March 2026 

This year, there will be two extra days of free bus travel. On Thursday 19 June, celebrate Clean Air Day with a day of free bus travel. Additionally, during the festive season, we're adding another day (to be confirmed) of free bus travel to support our local businesses.

Passengers who have a free U22, 60+ or disabled concessionary bus pass should use their bus pass as normal to travel. 

The 2025 free bus initiative is funded with £170,000 from the council's 2025/26 budget.
