A Recycling Centre Permit is required for any commercial type vehicles that use Recycling Centres or the Friarton Weighbridge

Friarton Weighbridge and the Recycling Centres

  • Permits, and/or short term lease agreements, should be displayed on your vehicle's front windscreen via an A4 sized print out or electronically on a tablet (10 inch and over) for inspection by the Site Attendants.
  • Commercial customers (PDF) [1MB]  can use the Friarton Weighbridge (paying by card only), but they must display their Permit as above.
  • Commercial Permit holders can also dispose of chargeable waste and recycling via Friarton Weighbridge.
  • All the latest news and essential information for Commercial Waste and Weighbridge/Recycling Centre customers can be found on our news pages.

Do I need a Recycling Centre Permit?

You must apply for a permit if you are:

  • a business or landlord who currently, or intend to,:
    • recycle materials at a Recycling Centre
    • dispose of / recycle other chargeable materials at Recycling Centres or Friarton Weighbridge
  • A householder using a commercial type vehicle (such as a trailer, van of any size, pick-up or mini-bus (7-11 seats), camper van, horse-box, or a liveried vehicle including a taxi) needs a permit to access any of PKC's Recycling Centres. Entry to each Recycling Centre is at the discretion of the Site Attendants: if PKC staff are suspicious of any activity (such as regular, repeat visits which could be of a commercial nature), they have the right to refuse access to anyone without a Permit.
