The Perth and Kinross GIRFEC Steering Group and the Perth and Kinross Child Protection Committee are delighted to launch this refreshed Essential GIRFEC eLearning module, which has been developed in collaboration with our multi-agency partners. This module is for everyone, because in Perth and Kinross, It's everyone's job to make sure children and young people are alright.
This fully updated module aims to provide an entry-level overview of the National Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) approach and how it is used to promote positive outcomes for children, young people and their families in Perth and Kinross. It should take around 20 minutes to compete and is suitable for all multi-agency staff and volunteers, including those who work in adult services with parents/carers.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the module you will:
- Have a foundation understanding of the refreshed National GIRFEC approach, its principles and values and how GIRFEC can improve outcomes for children and young people and their families through the provision of early help and support;
- Know how to identify a wellbeing need using the National Practice Model and use the 5 key GIRFEC Questions;
- Recognise the importance establishing positive relationships and hearing and respecting children, young people and their family's views.
