Road closures across Perth and Kinross for busy events weekend

Residents and visitors are being advised that a number of road closures and parking restrictions will be in place from Friday 26 June to Sunday 28 June to support several major events taking place in Perth, Pitlochry and Blairgowrie.

Heartland Festival, Pitlochry - Friday 26 to Sunday 28 June 2026

The Heartland Festival will bring a full weekend of live music to Pitlochry, with acts including Marti Pellow, Skipinnish, Peat and Diesel, Starsailor and Sandi Thom.

During the event, parking and loading restrictions will be in place on:

  • Ferry Road and Tummel Crescent, from A924 Atholl Road to the end of Tummel Crescent
  • Bridge Road (A924 Perth Road to Foss Road)
  • A924 Atholl Road (Perth Road to Newholme Avenue)
  • A924 Perth Road (Atholl Road to A9 South trunk road interchange

A Park and Ride service for festival-goers is available. Located in Ballinluig, the festival shuttle buses will run regularly on all three days from 1pm until 11.30pm. Advance booking for the park and ride service is required.

European Pipe Band Championships and City of Perth Salute, Perth - Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June 2026

Perth will welcome thousands of visitors over the weekend for the European Pipe Band Championships and City of Perth Salute celebrations.

To support these events, temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be in place from midnight on Saturday 27 June on Rose Terrace and Barossa Place. Stormont Street and Barossa Street will remain open, but access from Barossa Place will be restricted.Parking restrictions will also be in force on Edinburgh Road and part of the South Inch car park to allow coach parking during the event. Access and general parking will be limited, so please plan ahead and consider alternative parking where possible.

Separate parade on Saturday morning: anyone travelling to the European Pipe Band Championships on Saturday should be aware that a separate parade will take place in Perth city centre from 8.15am.This parade is not part of the European Pipe Band Championships; however a rolling road closure will be in place along its route and may affect journey times for those attending the event.The parade will travel through Tulloch Road, Crieff Road, Dunkeld Road, Barrack Street, Atholl Street, North Methven Street, Mill Street, Kinnoull Street, Scott Street and South Street, before finishing on Tay Street.

On Sunday 28 June at midday, the City of Perth Salute parade will leave Thimblerow car park, travelling via Paul Street, Old High Street, High Street, Tay Street, Dry Arch, Charlotte Street, Atholl Street, Rose Terrace before arriving at the North Inch, Perth, 1pm approximately. A rolling road closure will be in place while it passes.

All road closures will be removed once the events are finished and stages dismantled on Sunday 28 June 2026.

Donald Cargill Memorial Parade, Blairgowrie - Saturday 27 June

Starting at 9am, road closures and parking restrictions will be in place on the A926 The Cross, A926 High Street, A93 Boat Brae and A923 Wellmeadow. These will be removed once the parade has passed, no later than 10am.

People are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra time for journeys, and follow local signage and diversions during the weekend.
