Festive closedown arrangements

We are closed from 4pm on Wednesday 24 December 2025 and will re-open on Monday 5 January 2026 at 8.45am. PKC Chat on our website will be unavailable during this time.

Our main telephone contact numbers will redirect to emergency arrangements throughout the closedown period.

Crisis grants

Apply online for a crisis grant on our online form. Please be aware that after 24 December payments will not be processed until 29 December and after 30 December payments will not be processed until 5 January 2026.

Support referrals

For households unable to purchase essential food or energy due to dire financial need call 01738 476768. A range of community groups and local venues are also hosting Warm Spaces this winter, many of which will also run over the festive break.

Waste and recycling

There will be no kerbside bin collections on 25 and 26 December 2025 or of 1 and 2 January 2026. Please remember that brown/garden waste bin collections are suspended from 21 December 2025 to 4 January 2026 inclusive. If your bin would normally be due for collection on a Thursday or Friday visit our collections over the festive period page for details on the changes.

Recycling centres

All recycling centres will be closed on 25 and 26 December and 1 and 2 January. Recycling centre opening hours on other dates during the festive period are unchanged.

Special uplifts

Special uplift collections are suspended over the festive period and will resume on 5 January 2026.

Public toilets/ comfort scheme

All public toilets will be closed on 25 and 26 December and 1 and 2 January. Toilets under the Comfort Scheme may be available.

Perth Crematorium and Greyfriars Cemetery

Both Perth Crematorium and Greyfriars Cemetery will be closed on 25 and 26 December and 1 and 2 January.
