New Rannoch Day Centre

Supporting older people with dementia to live an active and fulfilling life

Our aims and objectives

  • To provide a quality, person centred, flexible and evidence-based service that promotes and supports individual strengths and levels of independence.
  • To offer a wide range of activities and opportunities to promote and maintain social, physical and mental health well-being
  • To enable service users to continue living within their own homes for as long as possible.
  • To fully involve and support service users and carers in all aspects of our service.
  • To deliver our service within a friendly, safe and welcoming environment.

Quality

Our service is underpinned by the National Care Standards (Support Services) which set out what you can expect, as a minimum, from us, and by the Scottish Social Service Council's Codes of practice which set the standards of professional conduct and practice required of social service workers.

Our service is registered, regulated and inspected by Care Inspectorate, Compass House, 11 Riverside Drive, Dundee, DD1 4NY, Tel. 0345 600 9527. Copies of our annual inspection reports can be found on their website.

Participation

In order to continually improve our service, we encourage the views and suggestions of service users, carers and others. We use a range of methods to gather these including focus groups, carers workshops,questionnaires/surveys regular reviews of the service and external advocacy to further support our clients and carers in this area. If you would like more details of how you can become involved, please speak to a member of staff.

The Centre

New Rannoch Centre is a dementia friendly building in the heart of North Muirton.  We are operational between the hours of 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday, and for service users' day care, 9am - 3.30pm.

Our service is a chargeable service. You may be required to pay in full or in part for the day care you receive. The amount chargeable is based on the number of times each week you attend the day centre and this cost is means tested.

Costs will be discussed with you individually by your referring Social Worker who will offer you a financial assessment and advice on income maximisation.

Going forward our objective is to offer a flexible approach to our service which could include interim placements for hospital discharge patients awaiting a care package, and also supporting older adults facing a short term crisis. View the New Rannoch Centre brochure (PDF, 574 KB).

Staffing

The unit has a number of staff who are supported by volunteers, skill seekers and students. There is a depute manager on duty daily.

Each service user  is allocated a key worker. Your key worker will work with you to develop, and regularly review your support plan to ensure that the service is meeting your needs and expectations.

Complaints

We strive to provide the best possible service at all times but sometimes things do go wrong. If you have a complaint about any part of the service you receive from us, please contact the Manager or Duty Depute Manager.  You may also contact Perth & Kinross Council on 01738 476970 (for complaints only), or the via the Care Inspectorate website.  This number to contact New Rannoch directly is 01738 474566.
