Provost, Depute Provost and Bailies of Perth and Kinross

The Provost of Perth and Kinross is the Civic Head of the Council, an elected member and the Convener of the Council. The current Provost is Xander McDade.

The Provost's role is diverse and includes a wide range of civic activity supporting the Council's values and vision including:

  • The civic host at civic ceremonies, events and receptions
  • The civic host to visiting dignitaries to the area, including members of the Diplomatic Corps, members of the Royal family and visitors from our twinned towns across the world
  • An ambassador in promoting the Perth and Kinross area

Provost McDade is joined by Councillor Andrew Parrott, Depute Provost of Perth and Kinross, in delivering the activities of the Civic Office. Five Bailies have also been appointed to support the Provost and Depute Provost to undertake Civic duties in the region.
