Eat Well Play Well

Eat Well Play Well is a play and nutrition programme which has been developed for families with children aged 0 - 5 years old.

It's a split programme that allows families to learn about nutrition and cooking along with fun physical activities to keep themselves and their children active.

The programme allows families to learn basic cooking skills on a budget, with the aim to increase their confidence in the kitchen and their skills and knowledge to plan and prepare a home cooked meal.  It also allows families to understand topics such as portion size, healthy snacks, and food labelling.

Along with the practical skills the families will learn they will also gain a better understanding of the importance of play in the Early years of a child's life, by doing activities such as soft play games, sports games, messy play, and ball games. All the activities can be adapted in terms of space and equipment, allowing everyone to get involved.

Groups are currently being delivered by the Early Years Family Learning Practitioners who work in PKC nurseries.  Please contact your nursery to find out if a group is running in your local area.

Alternatively, you can contact our team for further information by emailing parenting@pkc.gov.uk
