A weekly session which supports parents perinatally to reflect on their developing baby and tune into their behaviour to help with bonding and attachment.
What is Antenatal Peep?
Antenatal Peep is a 5-week programme for expectant parents who are around 28 weeks pregnant. Programmes are delivered in person at local venues in Perth and Kinross or virtually through MS Teams. Parents can attend alone or with a supportive family member or friend.
Our programmes offer expectant parents the opportunity to come together to share experiences and ideas in a safe and supported environment.
Each weekly 1 hour session includes:
- Talk time to share developmental knowledge and information
- Songs and rhymes
- A story or book
- An activity
- Sharing the ORIM framework (Opportunities, Recognition, Interaction and Modelling)
Each week we cover a different topic including:
- Getting to know each other and baby
- Thinking about your baby
- The transition to parenthood - how life might change
- Babies developing brain and emotional support during the birth
- How babies communicate and the very first language
How to apply
You can apply by completing a Parenting and Family Learning Team referral form (PDF, 94 KB) and return this to parenting@pkc.gov.uk
Parents can apply individually or applications can be submitted by anyone who works with a child or family.
Feedback from parents
I enjoyed learning more about baby development
It has made us more aware of the things we can do to connect with our baby before she is born. We have made new friends. I am feeling supported as a new parent
