Get advice on shutting out scammers

The national 'Scams Van' is visiting communities in Perth and Kinross on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 June 2024, to share advice and information on how to 'shut out scammers', especially doorstep callers.

Officers from the Council's Trading Standards team, and Police Scotland will be on hand to help raise awareness among the public about the most regularly reported types of scam activity, and how to deal with them. Information leaflets, and 'no cold calling' stickers will also be available to take away.

On Monday 24 June, the van will be in Blairgowrie from 12.30pm to 3.30pm at the Tesco store on Welton Road. The following day, it will visit Dobbies' Garden Centre in Perth from 9.30am to 12noon before going to James Square in Crieff in the afternoon from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

More information about dealing with rogue traders and uninvited callers is available by visiting the Trading Standards Scotland website.
