Attainment statistics published today by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) show young people in Perth and Kinross have performed well across a range of measures in their SQA Assessments in 2025.
Early figures show that pupils in Perth and Kinross achieved 2,478 National 4 awards, an increase of 205 over the number of National 4 passes in 2024, and 6,629 National 5 awards, an increase of 192 over the number of National 5 passes in 2024 and an 80% success rate.
At Higher (SCQF Level 6) qualifications, pupils in Perth and Kinross were awarded 3,457 passes, an improvement on session 2023-24, achieving a 75% pass rate.
At Advanced Higher (SCQF Level 7) there were 543 passes across our schools, also an improvement on session 2023-24, and a pass rate of 76%.
These results represent the culmination of many years of learning and endeavour on the part of so many young people.
We know that many young people will be pleased with their results and that others may not have achieved the results they wanted.
All our schools are open today (Tuesday) and young people should contact their school for advice and help if they have any concerns about their results. Further information is also available online from the SQA on their results support web pages which can be found on their website.
The SQA results helpline is also available on 0345 279 1000.
David Macluskey, Strategic Lead for Education and Learning and Chief Education Officer in Perth & Kinross Council, said: "It is my professional privilege to see the successes of our children and young people rewarded on days like this. These results are a testament to their hard work and belief in the future.
"I would also like to thank all of our parents and carers; teachers; school staff and wider education and learning team for their hard work and support."
Learning and Families Convener Councillor John Rebbeck added: "These results are a reflection of the effort put in by everyone in our school communities.
"It is fantastic to see such a high success rate in Perth and Kinross but it's worth remembering that if you have not got the results you were hoping for help and advice is available. I would encourage any young person in that situation to seek that advice at an early stage. These results are a milestone and not a destination."
