Elections for Community Councils are held every 3 years. Between this time local residents can petition for an election to establish or re-establish a Community Council, and by-elections may be held to fill vacancies. If you care about the area you live in and want to make a difference, then get involved by standing for your local Community Council.
Community Council elections
Following a request to establish a community council in the Rannoch Community Council area, and the requirement to hold a by-election for the Kinross Community Council, an election and by-election will take place on Thursday 26 March 2026.
If either process results in a contested election requiring a ballot, the ballot will be suspended until after the Scottish Parliament Elections to be held on 7 May 2026.
