We work closely with Community Resilience Groups across Perth and Kinross to help communities prepare to respond in emergencies.
There are currently 42 Community Resilience Groups in Perth and Kinross.
These groups are made up of volunteers living in a local area. Our Civil Contingencies Team support these groups by helping them plan for how to support their community in cases of severe weather or other emergencies. This can range from opening a local rest centre for people in need of a safe, warm and dry place to stay due to the emergency to supporting vulnerable people in their area who might need help with getting shopping or clearing pathways during periods of extreme weather.
If you're interested in setting up a Community Resilience Group in your area please contact our Civil Contingencies Team.
