Immobilised and uplifted vehicles

Information on the immobilisation, uplift, storage and disposal of vehicles

Vehicle clamping and removal

Perth & Kinross Council have recently enacted certain parts of the Road Traffic Act 1991 to uplift, immobilise, store and dispose of vehicles parked in contravention.

These measures were brought in to crack down on discriminative parking, specifically against persistent contraveners and evaders.

Although the act allows Perth & Kinross Council to take action against any vehicle parked in contravention, the Council outline when they will take action against a vehicle as per their  Clamping and Vehicles Removal Policy (PDF) [343KB] .

No vehicle will be released until all outstanding debt relating to the removal has been paid and the Council's Parking Services team are satisfied that the vehicle is being released back to the owner.

If your vehicle has been removed or immobilised, you should refer to the policy for details on how to reclaim your vehicle.  Alternatively, you can contact Parking Services on 01738 477211 or email parkingservices@pkc.gov.uk.
