Do you need a safe place to leave your car overnight, or somewhere secure to store household items? If so, why not think about renting a lock-up from the Council?
A lock-up is a purpose built permanent garage structure. Lock-ups are generally built in terraced blocks and concentrated on single sites. You can sleep safe knowing your car is locked away securely in your own lock-up.
If you don't have a car you can use a lock-up to store your bikes, gardening equipment and any furniture or household items you're not using. So if you don't have much storage space at home and you find your house is getting a bit cluttered, a lock-up could be the answer.
The Council also rents out garage sites, and block and chain parking spaces to tenants and residents.
- A garage site is a plot where you can lay a surface plinth upon which a garage may be built/erected by the renter.
- A block and chain parking space is a secure, dedicated parking space which is secured with a chain. You are provided with a padlock and two bi‑lock keys, allowing you to lock and unlock the chain as needed. This ensures your space remains reserved and secure whenever you leave or return.
