The Learning and Families Committee on Wednesday 2 April 2025 approved Report 25/72 which proposed to establish a new Intensive Support Provision (ISP) in Viewlands Primary School. This report presented an Options Appraisal following an assessment of building capacity.

As a result, this Committee approved to prepare and publish a Proposal Paper (Word doc, 155 KB) and commence formal consultation on the following proposal:
- To permanently establish a new Intensive Support Provision (ISP) in Viewlands Primary School for pupils with Additional Support Needs with effect from January 2026.
Formal consultation
The Consultation is being undertaken in line with the requirements of the Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010.
The consultation period runs from 24 April 2025 until 6 June 2025, a total of 31 school days.
A public notice has been placed in the local press.
Public meeting
A public meeting will be held to discuss the proposal and the Proposal Paper. The meeting will be an opportunity for interested parties to:
- Hear more about the proposal;
- Ask questions about the proposal; and
- Have their views recorded so that they can be taken into account as part of the consultation process.
Anyone wishing to attend the meeting is invited to do so. To ensure attendance numbers can be managed, please book a place by:

- Emailing FBSStatConsultations@pkc.gov.uk

Responding to the proposal
You are invited to respond to the Proposal Paper no later than close of business on 6 June 2025 by making written, electronic or online submissions as follows:
