Excess dust can become an annoyance and cause frustration to businesses and residents however dust is unavoidable and, in some circumstances, can be difficult to fully control.

Intense and persistent odours affecting a home, and its occupants can often cause upset. Officers within the Environmental Health Team will investigate odours that are causing a significant impact on the enjoyment of a home.

As a significant part of Perth and Kinross comprises rural areas there can be issues with drainage and private sewerage systems. It is the responsibility of landowners/occupiers to ensure that they maintain private drains and tanks within the curtilage of their property.

The Environmental Health team work in partnership with NHS Tayside Health Protection Team to investigate a range of infectious diseases identified in members of the public in Perth and Kinross.
