Purpose
To advise elected members of the successful recruitment to the permanent post of Strategic Lead - Education and Learning following the departure of Sheena Devlin.
Briefing Information
Following a rigorous external recruitment and selection process at the end of 2024, supported by an independent panel education advisor, David MacLuskey has been appointed to the permanent position of Strategic Lead - Education and Learning/Chief Education Officer, with effect from Monday 13 January 2025.
David, who is currently the Council's Service Manager - Education (Secondary), has been with the Council since 2010.
The internal communications post for staff announcing David's appointment has been attached to this briefing note for your information.
Our thanks go to Bernadette Martin-Scott who has been lead the Education and Learning area on an interim basis since the start of December whilst this recruitment process was ongoing. From 13 January Bernadette will return to her substantive role as Service Manager - Early Education and Childcare.
