Purpose
This briefing note serves as a concise summary of recent updates from Waste Services for Elected Members to stay informed. Links are included where appropriate to provide further information that can be shared by Elected Members throughout the community.
Briefing Information
You were previously informed on 9 August of upcoming industrial action that was likely to disrupt bin collections between August 14 and 22. Unison and GMB trade union members in Waste and Recycling and Street Cleansing Services were planning on taking part in industrial action in a national dispute over pay. Members of Unite were to strike elsewhere in Scotland.
This industrial action has been postponed for further consultation with union members following a revised pay offer from COSLA.
Waste Services will update further when more information becomes available.
