Briefing Information
The Council and other listed public authorities (Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 (Schedule 1)) are required to facilitate the process of Community Planning and establish a Community Planning Partnership (CPP). The CPP is required to develop and deliver a Local Outcomes Improvement Plan (LOIP) which identifies the key socio-economic inequalities facing people in Perth and Kinross and sets out what the CPP is doing in order to improve outcomes for residents.
April 2024
A meeting of the CPP took place in April 2024. At this meeting, partners confirmed their commitment to working collaboratively through the CPP and further agreed a revised focus on three main priority areas:
- Poverty
- Employability
- Health and Wellbeing
August 2024
The first two priorities have existing partnerships and strategies either in development, or in place, through the Anti-Poverty Taskforce and Local Employability Partnership respectively.
The third priority required some additional thought and a workshop with input from officers across the wider CPP, Perth and Kinross Council, NHS Tayside and Health and Social Care Partnership took place in August. At this workshop partners agreed to focus on three main aspects of Health and Wellbeing:
- Child health
- Obesity and physical activity
- Ageing
These focus areas will form the basis of a new Health & Wellbeing Leadership Group, chaired by NHS Tayside.
November 2024
With the establishment of a Health & Wellbeing Leadership Group, the CPP now needed to determine how to reflect work on the three priority areas in the LOIP and how it can best support/facilitate/add value to this work. This process started with a further workshop on 8 November, which brought together representatives from the CPP, the Anti-Poverty Taskforce, Local Employability Partnership to agree how to take this work forward collectively.
A revised and updated LOIP, reflecting the outcomes of these workshop sessions will be presented to CPP Board at their meeting on 12 December.
2025
A programme for CPP Board meetings, with supporting agenda planner will also be brought to CPP Board for agreement on 12 December. This programme will be the starting point for an improved governance and accountability process for the work of the CPP going forward.
