Details

Purpose

This Briefing Note provides an update on the Friarton Bridge following a blaze at the Evra recycling centre on Lower Friarton Road.

Briefing Information

The M90 Friarton Bridge re-opened to traffic just after 1pm today (January 14).

It was closed this morning after fire crews were called to a fire at the Evra recycling centre at 3.50am.

There are no injuries. It is believed the fire was caused by a lithium battery.

Traffic was diverted through Perth but the closure caused extensive delays around the city.

Our parking and civil contingencies team was stood up to provide assurance, support and a visible presence in the locations normally impacted by the bridge closure until the traffic cleared.

Police and fire crews remain on site.

Our social media channels have been updated to advise motorists the bridge has re-opened.
